Top 4 tips for social media marketing in Q1 2022
Q1 is always a great time to review your plans for the upcoming year, but how do you find the time?
Though social media marketing doesn’t necessarily always require a large amount of time just to get by, the more work you put into it, the bigger the returns. But where to start?
Start with clear goals and action items
Every plan needs a checklist and marketing is no different.
However, most people make a list of goals that cannot be measured for success or milestones. “Get more followers” is a great goal, but it needs to be more measurable than that. “Gain 50 more followers in two weeks” is a more realistic goal to set for yourself as it gives a desired outcome as well as a timeline for results. Once you have a goal mapped out, you can work on putting into place ways to reach that goal.
Video, video, video
2022 is, more than ever, the year of short stream video messaging. TikTok is a great example of how you can get a message out in a short amount of time.
While your audience may trend older and less interested in some platforms, overall short video is a key market to find your voice. Give quick bursts of information, sponsor a video ad or even show staff engaging in work or play, but get it on video! We can help you find your message and help you learn to share that message with the world effectively with assistance on both wording as well as the technical side of quality filming for social.
Share quality over quantity
Though video is gearing up to take over everything in the next few years, edging out traditional word and graphic posts, you should still focus on eye-catching quality visuals to accompany your blog posts. Quality visuals can help you increase the engagement on your social media channels and offer a great opportunity for your audience to share the message. Sharing your message with your audience’s audience is a great way to generate more traffic, improve sales and let you be seen as someone to follow. Even if you only post once a week, make sure it is a high quality in both technical standpoint as well as message wording and grammar. And if you don’t have time, hire someone to do it for you! We can share case studies on small business returns based on quality and frequent social media posts.
Do your research
What is the average age of your audience? What platform gets the highest engagement? What one gets the lowest? What is the best time for you to post on each platform? What platform has the largest audience?
Do you know the answers to these questions? You should.
This information should be at your fingertips at all times and be kept in mind when working on your marketing. You should be doing a deep dive into your analytics quarterly and adjusting your messaging and platforms accordingly. Or you could hire someone to do a review for you that can explain it in terms every business owner can understand and use.
